Joseph Nosser- President
Dr. Joseph Nosser is originally from Vicksburg, Mississippi, and serves as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice with William Carey University School of Pharmacy. He currently practices as a clinical pharmacist with the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Clinic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2013. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 2019. He also completed a PGY-1 community-based pharmacy residency from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 2020. Dr. Nosser is a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) and a Board-Certified Medication Therapy Management Specialist (BCMTMS) through the National Board of Medication Therapy Management (NBMTM). His professional interests include ambulatory care pharmacy practice, pharmacist-led clinical services (i.e., continuous glucose monitoring, chronic care management), and precepting future generations of student pharmacists in Mississippi. He is an avid supporter of Southern Miss athletics and enjoys spending time with his family friends, cooking, and traveling around the United States.
Edward Richardson III- President-Elect
Edward Lafayette Richardson III is a community pharmacist and U.S. Army National Guard Intelligence Officer with experience in ambulatory care, internal medicine, infectious diseases, and antimicrobial stewardship. He completed his PharmD at the University of Mississippi, where he served as president and president-elect of his local SCCP chapter. After graduation, he completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, providing direct patient care across acute care, primary care, and mental health settings.
During his residency, he gained experience in medication therapy management, pharmacogenomics education, anticoagulation management, deprescribing initiatives, and interdisciplinary rounding. He also contributed to multiple research projects—serving as principal investigator on studies involving MRSA colonization and pharmacogenomics-guided statin therapy—and delivered numerous clinical education sessions to healthcare teams and Veterans.
In addition to his pharmacy practice, he has held several leadership roles within the Mississippi Army National Guard, advancing to the rank of Captain and providing battalion-level intelligence support. He currently works as a community pharmacist for Kroger, promoting health and wellness in his local community.
Katie Collier- Treasurer
Dr. Katie Collier received her bachelor of science in pharmaceutical sciences in 2013 and her doctor of pharmacy in 2016 from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. Upon graduation, she completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at North Mississippi Medical Center (NMMC) in 2017. After residency, she joined the NMMC team as a staff pharmacist working in central pharmacy. She has experience as a pharmacist for outpatient hospice as well as the cardiology/CV surgery and adult medicine units. She currently practices as an advanced practice pharmacist on the general surgery, bariatric surgery, and inpatient rehabilitation units at NMMC. Dr. Collier is an Adult Medicine preceptor for APPE students at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. She also serves as a preceptor for the required longitudinal Pharmacy Service Commitment rotation and offers a general surgery elective rotation for the residency program at NMMC. Dr. Collier is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and is an active participant on both the Bariatric Care Team and systemwide Order Set Committee. Dr. Collier is a member of ASHP, MSHP, ACCP, and MCCP. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family.
Jaclyn Evans- Secretary
Dr. Jaclyn Evans completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2005 from Mississippi State University, her Master of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Biomedical Sciences in 2008 and 2020 from Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi Medical Center respectively, and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2012 from Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy. For the past 10 years, she has practiced as a hospital staff pharmacist at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, MS. In 2024, she matched and completed a PGY-1 Clinical Pharmacy residency at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS, in her quest to switch from hospital staff pharmacist to clinical pharmacist. She plans to take the Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) examination in 2026. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending various performing arts events, and traveling both domestically and internationally.
Ron Welch- Past President
Dr. Ron Welch is the Clinical Lead Pharmacy Specialist at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Golden Triangle. His main interests include infectious disease, cardiology, and adult medicine. He is board certified in Infectious Disease, Cardiology, and Pharmacotherapy. He serves as preceptor for multiple schools of pharmacy and served as residency program director for over 5 years. Dr. Welch has developed numerous protocols that have enhanced pharmacy services at BMH-GTR and expanded pharmacist autonomy. An active member of MSHP, ASHP, ACCP, SIDP, ACC, and MAD-ID; he is passionate about advancing pharmacy practice, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, advocating for the pharmacy profession, and mentoring the next generation of pharmacists. He lives in Columbus, MS with his wife Hope Welch (Oncology Pharmacy Specialist) and two daughters.
