New AACP Academic Research Fellows Program
AACP announces a year-long leadership program designed to expand the capabilities of established faculty research scientists and administrators to cultivate collaborative team research and graduate education within and across institutions. Participants will gain experience in research-focused leadership, develop strategies to secure funding, and network with successful research leaders and advocacy groups. Scholarship Opportunity for Dual Degree Students
Applications are now being accepted for the Express Scripts Scholars Program. The program will provide four (4) $10,000 scholarships each year to enrolled dual degree students. The awarded students are given $2,500 per semester for four consecutive semesters, totaling $10,000 over two years. The application deadline is Wednesday, May 15, at 5:00 p.m. EDT. Explore Research Funding Opportunities
AACP has launched a new web page that provides links for members to directly search for funding opportunities and deadlines in chosen research fields. These include federal agencies, non-federal research associations and foundations, and a section of additional funding opportunities that may not be broadly distributed. These additional grants will be updated periodically.
Call for Presidential Nominations
The AACP Nominations Committee calls for nominations of candidates for the office of President-Elect. The term of service is three years, including service as President-Elect, President and Immediate Past President followed by five years on the Argus Commission. Election includes appointment to the AACP Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Active AACP members who do not hold the title of dean, associate dean, assistant dean or equivalent administrative title are eligible to serve. Please confirm a candidate’s willingness to serve prior to submitting a name to the committee. Self nominations are accepted.
Requests for additional information can be directed to Immediate Past President Brian L. Crabtree, committee chair, at brian.crabtree@wayne.edu. Interested candidates should submit a letter of intent (not exceeding two pages) and curriculum vitae to Sandy Stutman by Wednesday, April 17, at 5:00 p.m. EDT.
